Alan Farms – Science & Biomedical STEM Teacher


Mr. Farms teaches Project Lead the Way’s (PLTW) Principles of Biomedical Science,
Human Body Systems, Medical Interventions, Biomedical Innovations, as well as
Marine Sciences, and Forensics. He graduated from the University of Northern
Colorado with a B.A. in Social Sciences and later received his M.Ed. in Educational
Leadership from the American College of Education. He has also done additional
coursework and research at Duke, Auburn, University of South Carolina, University of
Colorado, etc. Mr. Farms is also the program coordinator & testing facilitator for the
University of Florida’s Biotechnician Assistant Certification Exam (BACE). Lastly, he
advises Anime, Aerospace/Aviation, and Pre-Medical clubs at NDHS.

In 2018 Mr. Farms started his seventh year as a licensed teacher. Prior to New
Dimensions High School, he was a US Marine, owned a food truck company, taught
English and Biology and was the dean for a local high school. In addition to teaching he
is a licensed pilot, enjoys aerospace, astronomy & astrobiology, climate change
research & also works in South America as a mentor and tutor for at-risk youth.
