This is updated information regarding school closures as Hurricane Milton approaches. After consulting with state and local officials and in response to the evacuation cadence of the western side of the State, we are closing schools and district offices Tuesday, October 8 through Thursday, October 10. Again, there will be no school on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of this week.

10/7/2024 – 1:20 PM Storm Update
This is updated information regarding school closures as Hurricane Milton approaches. In reviewing the changes to the speed of the storm, Superintendent Shanoff has canceled all Osceola public schools on both Wednesday, October 9, and Thursday, October 10. Again, there will be no school on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. The district will continue to closely monitor the impacts of the storm with Osceola County Emergency Management before making any decisions about school on Friday of this week to ensure the safety of our students and staff. Please prepare for the approaching storm and stay safe.
The district’s Extended Day/Learning Program will operate as normal on both Monday and Tuesday.
Florida Executive Order 24-214 declares that a State of Emergency exists in Osceola County. The District has made the decision, in accordance with the provisions set forth in the Executive Order 24-214 to cancel the School Board Meeting for October 8, 2024. The meeting will be held during the previously scheduled special meeting on October 22, 2024.
Wednesday, October 9, and Thursday, October 10 — All SDOC schools and school district operations will be closed. Employees will not report to work unless deemed essential by the supervisor (i.e. Maintenance Department).
The district will continue to closely monitor the impacts of the storm with Osceola County Emergency Management before making any decisions about school for Friday of this week to ensure the safety of our students and staff. Osceola School District Superintendent Dr. Mark Shanoff is closely monitoring the weather system in the Gulf of Mexico, and, in consultation with emergency management professionals and county leaders, has made the following decisions due to the projected impact to our area:
Monday, October 7, and Tuesday, October 8 —School will be in session. All after-school activities, events, and athletics at all schools will operate as normal on Monday but will be canceled for Tuesday.

This is a reminder that New Dimensions will be closed tomorrow 9/27/2024 due to a previously scheduled student Holiday/Teacher workday. School will resume on Monday.

NDHS Route 2 will not run on 8/27/2024
NDHS Route 2 will not run on 8/27/2024 we anticipate it returning to service on 2/28/2024. If anything changes an additional email will be sent and information will be posted on our website.
New Automated Call-Out System
Effective 9/1/2024 New Dimensions High School will use a new automated calling system. To receive text messages from this system, respond to an incoming text that will be sent on 8/27 and 8/28 or you may text Y or Yes to 67587.
